Description

This flexible drain snake is a simple hair clog remover for the drains you use every day: bathroom sinks, shower drains, bathtubs and kitchen sinks. When water starts to pool because hair, soap scum and small debris have collected just below the drain opening, feed the thin steel coil into the drain, press the red cap and pull. Four small steel claws open at the tip, close around the hair and bring it up, with no liquid drain cleaner and no chemicals.

The cable is a bare, tightly wound steel spring about 24 in long that bends to follow the curve under the drain. The red plastic handle works like a syringe: two fingers under the curved wings, thumb on the round cap. Press to open the claws, release to grip. Use it as an everyday drain cleaner tool to keep a slow shower drain or sink drain flowing, or as a grabber to pick up a ring, an earring or a cap dropped into the drain opening.

It is reusable: rinse the claws under hot water after use, shake off the hair and hang the tool to dry. It is a hand tool for hair and debris near the top of the drain; it is not made for toilets or deep clogs in the main sewer line.

  • Length: about 24 in (60 cm)
  • Tip: 4 spring-loaded steel claws
  • Cable: flexible steel coil spring
  • Handle: red PP plastic push cap and finger grip
  • For: bathroom sink, shower, bathtub and kitchen sink drains
  • In the box: 1 drain snake

Why it happens

Hair collects just below the drain

Every shower and wash sends a few hairs down. They catch on the stopper and the pipe walls, soap scum binds them, and the water slows.

HairLong strands wrap around the stopper and the pipe walls.
Soap scumSoap and conditioner residue glue the hair into a mat.
Small debrisLint and bits get trapped in the mat and the drain slows.

FAQ

Questions before you buy

Can't find your answer? Contact us - we reply within 24-48 hours.

Will it reach the hair in my drain?

It's about 24 in long and the coil bends, so it follows the curve under most bathroom sinks, kitchen sinks and tub drains. It's made for hair and debris near the top of the drain, not deep clogs further down the pipe.

Can it scratch my sink or drain?

Guide it in gently and don't force it if it meets resistance. The coil is bare steel, so go slowly on delicate finishes.

Do I need to remove the drain stopper?

If your sink has a pop-up stopper or a strainer basket, lift it out first so the coil can go into the drain opening. Hair often collects on the stopper too.

How do I clean it after use?

Pull the hair off the claws, rinse them under hot water and hang the tool to dry.

Can it unclog a toilet?

No. It's made for sink, shower and bathtub drains. A toilet needs a toilet auger.
