Description

Opening a bottle should be the easy part of the evening. This electric wine opener set takes the twisting and pulling out of it: set the cordless corkscrew over the bottle neck, press the lower button and the spiral draws the cork straight up into the opener; press the upper button and it lets the cork go. It runs on 4 AA batteries, so there is no cord to plug in — use it at the kitchen counter, the dinner table or out on the patio.

Everything you need for a bottle comes in one set. The foil cutter takes the capsule off with a squeeze and a turn, the angled acrylic pourer sits in the neck for a steadier pour, and the vacuum stopper closes an opened bottle you want to finish another day. All the pieces stand together on a compact black base, about 5.5 x 2.7 in, so the set stays tidy on a counter or bar cart instead of rolling around a drawer.

With its satin gunmetal-grey finish and clean cylinder shape, this wine bottle opener set makes an easy gift for wine lovers — for a housewarming, a birthday, the holidays or a host who opens bottles every weekend. It is also handy for anyone who finds a classic corkscrew hard on the hands or wrists.

  • Set includes: electric corkscrew, foil cutter, wine pourer, vacuum wine stopper, storage base
  • Electric corkscrew: about 8.9 in tall, 1.8 in wide
  • Wine pourer: about 3.8 in tall; vacuum stopper: about 3.5 in tall
  • Foil cutter: about 2.8 x 1.7 in
  • Storage base: about 5.5 x 2.7 in
  • Power: 4 AA batteries (not included)
  • Two buttons: extract (down) and release (up)
  • Finish: satin gunmetal grey; base and foil cutter black

Why it happens

Corks that fight back

A classic corkscrew takes grip, twisting and a firm pull. If the screw goes in at an angle, the cork can split or crumble into the wine.

Twisting by handIt takes grip strength that many people find tiring.
A crooked screwA screw that goes in off-center can tear the cork.
Ragged foilWithout a cutter, torn foil sits right where you pour.

FAQ

Questions before you buy

Can't find your answer? Contact us - we reply within 24-48 hours.

Are batteries included?

No. The corkscrew runs on 4 AA batteries, which go in under the top cap. They are not included in the set.

Which bottles does it work with?

Standard wine bottles closed with a cork. It is not made for screw caps, crown caps or sparkling-wine corks.

How do I use it?

Cut the foil with the foil cutter, set the corkscrew upright on the bottle and press the lower button until the cork is out. Then press the upper button to release the cork from the spiral.

What do the pourer and the stopper do?

The angled pourer sits in the bottle neck for a steadier pour. The vacuum stopper closes an opened bottle so you can keep the rest for another day.

Does it make a good gift?

Yes: the five pieces come together in one box, and the base keeps them together on a counter or bar cart.
