This wireless meat thermometer lets you follow your roast, turkey, steak or chicken from your phone instead of opening the oven door or the grill lid. Push the slim probe into the thickest part of the meat, close the door and watch the temperature in the free app for iPhone and Android, or on the display of the charging booster. There is no cable between the probe and the booster, so nothing gets pinched in the oven door or under a closed lid.

The probe has two sensors: the tip reads the inside of the meat from 14°F to 212°F, and the ceramic handle reads the heat around it up to 572°F, with a new reading every second. Choose one of the 9 meat presets or set your own target temperature, and the app alerts you when the meat reaches it. In open air the probe reaches the booster up to 328 ft away and the booster reaches your phone up to 492 ft away; walls and closed grills shorten that range.

Do I need the app?

No. The booster display shows the meat and ambient temperature. The free app for iPhone and Android adds 9 meat presets, your own target temperatures, alerts and a temperature graph. It needs no account and comes in English, Spanish, French, German and Italian.

How far can I walk away?

In open air, up to 328 ft (100 m) between probe and booster and up to 492 ft (150 m) between booster and phone. Walls, a closed oven or a grill lid shorten the range, so keep the booster near the oven or grill.

How do I use the probe safely?

Insert the probe into the thickest part of the meat, at least up to the notch, so the tip stays below 212°F (100°C); the ceramic handle can take up to 572°F (300°C). Don't use it in a microwave. Wash the probe with warm soapy water after cooking.

How do I charge it?
