Description

Looking for Christmas gifts for her that feel personal without being fussy? This small wooden music box is wound by hand: turn the silver crank on the side and the pinned metal cylinder plucks a steel comb to play a simple, old-fashioned melody. It is a gift she can open, wind and listen to straight away, with no batteries and no charging.

The hinged lid is laser-engraved, and the front and side panels carry a carved scroll pattern with interlocking finger-joint corners. Lift the lid and the whole mechanism is on show, which is half the charm. It is palm-sized, so it fits in a hand, sits happily on a bedside table or shelf, and slips easily into a stocking or a gift bag.

Choose from three styles: natural light wood with a smiling sun and the words "you are my sunshine", deep green with a gold "Merry Christmas, Happy New Year" lid and hanging baubles on the front, or red with a gold "Happy Birthday" frame and cake motif. Each one works as a keepsake for a mum, wife, girlfriend, sister or friend, for Christmas, a birthday or a Secret Santa that needs something with a bit of thought behind it.

  • Hand-cranked music box mechanism, no batteries needed
  • Wooden body with laser-engraved lid and carved side panels
  • Silver metal crank handle; metal comb and pinned cylinder movement
  • Hinged lid shows the mechanism when open
  • Three styles: natural wood, green, red
  • Small, palm-sized; weight about 90 g
  • Quantity: 1 music box per order

Engraved lidA short message on the lid makes it feel chosen, not generic.
Small and keepablePalm-sized, so it sits on a shelf or bedside table for years.

Does it need batteries?

No. It is a mechanical music box: you turn the crank by hand and the melody plays while you turn.

Is it suitable for children?

It is made as a keepsake gift for adults. It has small moving parts, so keep it away from young children.

What is engraved on the lid?

It depends on the style: Natural Wood reads "you are my sunshine", Green reads "Merry Christmas, Happy New Year" and Red reads "Happy Birthday".
